What I love about this crochet headband pattern is that it has the cinched center, allowing it to be wider around the ears but narrower near the face. It also features a pretty crochet stitch that is incredibly easy to work and results in a knit-look fabric. This crochet headband is easy to crochet and elegant to wear.

Hdc: half double crochet
Sc: single crochet
BLO: back loop only
The headband stitches are worked into the “extra” loop of the half double crochet stitches from the round below. This extra loop sits in the back, behind the stitch. Insert your hook into that loop only, leaving the two front loops unworked.
Round 1: Foundation half double crochet 40 stitches. Join to the first stitch and place a marker to mark the beginning of rounds. Move the marker up as you begin each new round.
Round 2: Hdc in BLO of each st around.
Round 3-8: Repeat round 2.
Round 9: Sc in BLO of each st around. Join to next st with a slip stitch.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, and in each chain across.

Fasten off, leaving a long tail to sew the knot band together.
Attach knot to headband
Pinch the headband together at the spot where it was started and fastened off.
Wrap the knot band piece around, bringing the short ends together.
Using the long tail from fastening off the knot band, stitch the ends together.
Adjust the knot band so that the seam is on the inside.
Weave in all ends.
